Many amazing design related businesses have set up shop on Oxford Street Paddington, replacing what used to be high-end street fashion.
Since the inception of Westfield Bondi Junction, the for-lease signs began to pop-up along Oxford Street in Paddington where once stood a collection of high-end clothing stores comparative to London’s Kings Road. A handful of designer stores have stuck out the decline in popularity of this main strip up until today as we now see the filtering in of design relatedsu stores and revival of restaurants and drinking spots.
New design related brands such as MCM House, Jardan, Great Dane and Adam Robinson Design have all moved to the strip. This beginning of a revival of the street and growth of easy to access home brands and services lends itself to the demographics of the susburb. Celebrated for the rows of largely intact Victorian terraces, Paddington provides the kind of property that demands designer attention and breathes growth amongst the type of demographics the suburb attracts.
Paddington’s largest demographic is made up of 44.2% working professionals and the property sales market has largely remained steady. Median property prices have dipped from $2.5 million to $2.3 for homes and have remained relatively unchanged for unit prices.
