A social occasion
Now that the harbouside New Year celebrations are over, it may seem like everyone goes back to work, but Sydney is full of activity and events.
All throughout summer and autumn this year the city has many exciting upcoming events where you can make the most of experiencing some exciting new things and making the most of the outdoors.
Chinese New Year – Sydney Lunar Festival
Be sure to checkout the many Chinese New Year events kicking off around the city as part of Sydney Lunar Festival. Enjoy fabulous feasts, see spectacular shows and experience magnificent artwork from now until Sunday 5 February.
The New Art Gallery of NSW – North Building
The Art Gallery of NSW has opened it’s new, second, stand alone building with four floors of amazing and expansive gallery spaces and eateries. The stand-out and much talked about ‘The End of Imagination‘ exhibit in the refurbished and underground oil tank gallery should not be missed.
Sydney World Pride 2023
For three amazing weeks of celebration, from Friday 17 February until Sunday 6 March, the city will host the southern hemisphere’s first World Pride event. Entertainers such as Kylie Minogue, Charli XCX, Jessica Mauboy and Kelly Rowland will all be in our city to celebrate the event from The Domain all the way to Bondi Beach. For full event details and calendar, visit the official event website.
Westpac OpenAir Cinema
Dubbed the most idyllic cinema in the world, the cinema screen for this event is stationed in Sydney Harbour, with the city, Opera House and Harbour bridge in the background! The OpenAir Cinema includes restaurants and bars and a string of movies over January and February, it’s a sight to see and an experience to be had for sure.
These are our top pick, not to miss events! We hope you get to experience some or all of these great experiences our city has to offer.
